​CONSEQUENCES

Canada fought a long bloody war in the streets of ancient Italy Ortona city fighting an intense war against German's strongest and toughest Infantry. The Canadian Army depleted the German army just over a week from the city of Ancient Italy. The battle lasted 8 days from December 20th to the 28th of 1943. Canadian Casualties measured around 1,375 in Ortona during the war. With the capture of Ortona the Allies had access to dock allied ships and bring along supplies and move support if need as a consequence to the Axis. Soon enough the Allies would move on to take the port there was a Winter Defence system set up and ordered by Adolph Hitler to defend the port at all costs. When the Allies took Sicily and Southern Italy and the East Coast, Poland and the capture of Rome ultimately Italy would submit and ask for a truce against the allies which was a devastating blow for Mussolini.
